Journey Through Time and Wonder: Vishal’s Respite in Turkey with Thrillophila
When Vishal stumbled upon the reviews about Thrillophilia’s well-planned and arranged trips to Australia, he suddenly felt a craving to travel, but this time, not alone. Being a CEO of a software company, he was always on the go with his laptop. However, he missed the happiness that comes from travelling to new cities and countries with his wife.
A creative soul by nature, he loved to write about his travels and read about places before travelling. Having visited several countries for professional work, it took a lot of work for him to choose a new destination to travel to. That is why, when his wife suggested planning a trip to Turkey out of the blue, he not only felt a surge of relief but also realised that he was lucky in his choice of a partner- his wife was also thinking about travelling and Turkey was indeed new to him.
‘I just want to relax with my family and explore as many different and unique places as we can. My wife deserves a perfect trip.’, Vishal just had this request while chatting with our destination expert. With a week of planning and discussing customisations, Vishal was able to create an itinerary packed with adventure, culture and cuisine.
A walk through history
Vishal and his wife were both history lovers. They interacted a lot with the tour guides and asked many questions keeping everyone’s curiosity alive in the group. While exploring Ottoman relics at the Topkapi Museum, their excitement reflected on their faces.
During their stay in Istanbul, they discovered the Hagia Sophia Museum, a major cultural site of Byzantine architecture. They also had the chance to discover the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque.
“These places just make me wish I could travel through time and witness how the Ottoman Sultans actually lived during the golden age of Istanbul”, his wife had remarked.
“Perhaps the guide can tell us more about it”, Vishal had replied.
When they arrived in Cappadocia, their hearts were won over by the dramatic scenery of the city. The Derinkuyu Underground City was one among the favourite places of his wife.
“This is an exciting glimpse into the ancient way of life of the people of Turkey. It’s so difficult to imagine that a city existed below the earth’s surface. But seeing this all for real makes me wonder about the excellence of ancient human civilisation.’, Vishal’s wife exclaimed.
To satisfy their curious minds, they also went to the Mevlana Museum, Selime Monastery and Yaprakhisar. Everywhere they travelled, they learnt a new aspect of Turkish history which ranged from their glorious past to their modern charm.
Cruising through adventure
Vishal knew that his wife also loved nature and outdoor activities. He himself was also inclined towards trying new adventure sports once in a while. So, Thrillophilia had planned accordingly, including days of leisure and adventure. They also tried to incorporate some new experiences that Vishal and his wife hadn't tried before
Starting with a magnificent cruise over the Bosphorus River.
This dinner cruise not only filled their tummies with mouthwatering hummus and mezze but also gave them infinite memories of enjoying Istanbul’s glittering skyline.
Vishal was way too excited to try sunset ATV rides when they reached Cappadocia. The professional guides explained the safety protocols very well and helped them enjoy their hearts out. They zoomed through the landscape on the ATV, screaming and laughing all the time out of sheer thrill!
They also satisfied their thirst for adrenaline-rush by paragliding from Babadag mountain in Fethiye.
‘It felt as if I had got my wings and was flying on my own over this amazing Oludeniz region’, Vishal had said after completing the flight.
Coveted in culture and cuisine
To keep an equal gap in the itinerary of leisure, Vishal insisted on adding experiences where they can cherish some laid-back time. And for this, the Grand Bazaar exploration in Istanbul had topped their list. Vishal shopped for many Turkish handicrafts while Vishal’s wife enjoyed sampling the Turkish coffee and spices. They also explored street food joints and relished the flavours of Turkish koftes and kebabs.
After reaching Antalya, their next stop, they had an adrenaline-filled experience on the Typhoon Coaster in the Land of Legends Theme Park. This place was the perfect respite for this adventurous duo who loved exploring everything new and offbeat. They also loved spending most of their time on the water slides and cherished the thrilling ambience of the place the whole time.
The couple was mesmerised with their newfound love for Turkish cuisine on this trip.
Vishal’s wife had a discreet rule whenever they went travelling abroad- “We aren’t going to eat our staple Indian food while we are in a new country.”
So, in Turkey, they tried exploring local cuisine as much as they could. They enjoyed Shish Kebabs, Mezzes, Hummus, Dolma and Baklava in the local restaurants of Antalya and Cappadocia.
‘This is one of the best trips. Next time I won't think about a trip without Thrillophilia.’, Vishal showered praises to the destination experts after enjoying an unforgettable trip with his wife, as he had requested.
