Love in the Lap of Luxury: Rohit’s Enchanting Dubai Sojourn with Thrillophilia
Dubai, with its shimmery skyline and endless attractions, has always been a dream destination for us. Now, after years of having this dream and planning for it, it was finally time for us to turn this into reality.
Our Dubai trip was not just a mere getaway, it was a journey full of laughter, excitement, and breathtaking moments that brought us even closer together. Here’s a glimpse into some of the standout moments from our adventure and why it left us with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.
Sailing into Luxury
Our first evening in Dubai was the one I’ll never forget. Both my wife and I dressed up in our best clothes for this magical night in the sparkling waters of Dubai Marina, for the Dhow Cruise.
We stepped onto the traditional dhow cruise which was beautifully decorated with lights, setting the perfect romantic ambiance. As the boat began to glide through the calm waters of the Marina, we were greeted with refreshing welcome drinks. We passed through some of the most well-known attractions of Dubai such as the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Mall.
The dining experience was exquisite, everything from the appetisers to the dessert was top-notch. It was a wholesome buffet dinner where we enjoyed Hummus, Pasta Salad, Aloo Chana Chaat, Bread Rolls, Shish Taouk, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Kebab, Butter Chicken, Falafel, Veg Biryani and Arabic Bread. We ended our meal perfectly with desserts like Rasgulla and Dumplings Arabic Sweet.
Adding to the fun, we also enjoyed some beautiful live performances which was the highlight of our day. There were traditional Tanoura dances and fire shows on the boat which was truly remarkable.
Living The Dubai Dream
My only regret throughout the trip was that I did not have sufficient time to explore all the fascinating places and innovative attractions of Dubai. But, whatever places we visited, were enough to leave us in awe and speechless.
The tour started with the iconic Burj Khalifa– and oh my, what a masterpiece it is! No doubt, it was one of the most beautiful towers I had ever seen in my life and I absolutely understood what its craze was all about.
The day just got even better when we got to climb the 124th and 125th floors of the tower. We could literally overlook the entire city and it was a wonderful feeling to be able to see the whole of Dubai at once. At that moment, I could only imagine what views one must get from the top floors of the tower.
Well, apart from the stunning Burj Khalifa, we also explore a few more renowned attractions such as the Burj Al Arab, View at the Palm and Dubai Frame. Another place that truly captivated me was the Museum of the Future. It was almost as if we were transported into the future. Looking at the mesmerising displays in the museum I could only wonder how much we have advanced as humans.
My wife absolutely loved our visit to the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. To quote her exact words, “It was every bit as magical as I’d imagined!”.
The aquarium was enormous, filled with fascinating marine creatures, from graceful rays and massive sharks to vibrant small fishes and dolphins. Honestly, walking through the glass tunnel felt as if we were underwater ourselves. It was our first time seeing such a diverse variety of marine creatures up close and it reminded us of how incredible the marine world is.
Riding the Dunes
One of the most memorable days, full of thrills, goosebumps and adventure was the day we tried the Dubai Desert Safari.
Before coming on this trip, I had seen so many videos and photos of desert safaris in Dubai, but experiencing it in person was something else entirely. Our first activity was dune bashing and as soon as we settled inside our jeep, my heart started pounding. To be honest, I was really scared at first, unlike my wife who was jumping with excitement.
Our 4x4 came to life with a powerful roar, taking us on thrilling twists and turns. It was truly one of the wildest experiences of my life!

After trying this crazy wild ride, we wanted to do more, so we opted for sandboarding. With my sandboard strapped on, a mix of adrenaline and “Can I really pull this off?” going through my mind, I took a deep breath and launched myself down the dune.
Although, I don’t think it was a very good idea as I fell numerous times with my face in the sand. By the end, I was breathless, covered in sand and absolutely in love with Dubai. No matter how many bruises I got during sandboarding, it was really fun to try it.
In the end, we were taken to a beautiful campsite, right in the middle of the desert. There we enjoyed a wholesome and delicious BBQ meal along with some traditional live performances.
A Trip to Remember!
It has already been a week since we returned from our Dubai trip but honestly, all I can think about are the amazing moments I spent there with my wife. More than that, I am still wondering what have I missed out on and how much more could I have explored there..?
A second trip to Dubai is already on my mind. This time, I would want to see the beauty of Dubai from the top floor of Burj Khalifa, stay a night in the deserts, try some water sports like jet skiing, parasailing or flyboarding as well as try some more local dishes.
