Exploring the Magic of Himachal: Archana’s Thrillophilia Trip Review

When Archana, a software engineer from New Delhi, decided to take a family trip to Himachal Pradesh, she had no idea how memorable the experience would be. Travelling with her husband and two children, Archana embarked on her first trip with Thrillophilia on October 13, 2023. Armed with a wonderfully detailed itinerary and the seamless organisation of the trip, the family was all geared up for a thrilling adventure amidst the majestic landscapes of Himachal.

Professional Planning

The professional approach that Thrillophilia applied could be seen even before the journey began. A Whatsapp group was created which allowed the group to have real-time communication with the organisers. This way the family felt supported and well informed at every stage of the journey.

Archana was particularly impressed by Apoorva, with her warm and approachable nature. She was knowledgeable about the different packages which helped the family select the perfect trip for them. Vidhi, another Thrillophilia team member, briefed the family upfront on all the additional costs of chosen activities and other additions. This set the tone for a transparent and well-organised trip. This way the family will not be presented with unpleasant situations regarding various costs during the trip.

Manali: A Scenic Retreat

The family’s adventure started in Manali, where they stayed at Hotel Manali Heavens. True to the pictures shared by Vidhi, the hotel offered a comfortable and cosy stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, well-insulated, and equipped with a reliable hot water supply- a blessing in the chilly October weather. The hotel staff ensured their stay was comfortable in every way, accommodating special requests like adding boiled eggs and curd to the menu.

Exploring Manali’s beauty and culture was magical and enchanting. The family visited the iconic Hadimba Devi Temple, where they tried out traditional Himachali attire and clicked several pictures. They also thoroughly enjoy hot bowls of Maggi and steaming cups of chai during their stops while taking in the scenic splendour of the Atal Tunnel and Solang Valley.

Adrenaline-Pumping Adventures

Solang Valley is famous for adventure sports and was undoubtedly the highlight of their trip. The family indulged in activities like zip lining, zorbing, and paragliding. Each experience was exhilarating and exciting leaving them with memories that will be cherished for a long time. The children’s excitement was infectious and the whole family enjoyed watching and being part of that whole adventure. Even Archana, who was initially quite reluctant, eventually gave in and enjoyed all the activities with everyone else.

After a day of fun, the family enjoyed a wonderful and delicious lunch at Ride Inn Café which is famous for its stunning rooftop views of the Himalayas. It was the perfect spot to relax and reflect on their day’s activities and fun.

Kasol: A Mixed Bag of Experiences

The next part of their journey took them to Kasol. While the destination promised charm, the tent accommodations fell slightly short of expectations. The misunderstanding in room allocation, broken latches, and delayed hot water service were minor setbacks that the family had to deal with. But the issue was immediately resolved by the team of Thrillophilia, despite the late night hours. Additionally, the local guides stepped in to ensure the whole experience went smoother and they also helped arrange the other requirements.

Crossing the river via a pulley bridge added an element of thrill to the trip. While it seemed difficult and dangerous initially, the guides’ encouragement and assistance made the experience manageable and memorable. Archana later admitted that the thrill of this unique challenge made the small inconveniences fade away.

A Snowy Wonderland at Rohtang Pass

The trip culminated with a visit to the breathtaking Rohtang Pass. The family marvelled at the snow-clad peaks and engaged in playful snowball fights. Several picture-perfect moments were captured that will serve as a reminder of this wonderful time in the Himachali mountains. The cold weather demanded heavy winter clothing, which they had prepared- thanks to Vidhi’s detailed briefing.

The driver and local staff played an important role throughout the trip. From managing luggage to guiding them through the terrain, their helpful and patient nature enhanced the experience. Archana noted how they never rushed the group, even when delays occurred, and always ensured safety during transportation.

One of the unexpected joys of the trip was bonding with fellow travellers. Archana recalled the camaraderie and laughter shared with Abhishek, Bijayini, Priya, Vishnu, and Adarsh. The lively atmosphere added a sense of togetherness to their journey, making it even more enjoyable.

Thankful for a memorable trip

Despite minor setbacks in Kasol, Archana was very happy with the trip. The adventure and fun-packed itinerary, scenic beauty, and thoughtful planning by Thrillophilia left a lasting impression. She particularly appreciated the effort put in by the local guides and the flexibility offered by the trip coordinators.

As the family bid farewell to Himachal, they carried back not just souvenirs but also a treasure trove of wonderful memories. Archana expressed her gratitude to Thrillophilia for organising such a wonderful trip. The team at Thrillophilia received praise for their professionalism and dedication.

For Archana and her family, this Himachal tour was more than just a vacation, it was an adventure that helped them to reconnect with each other. The trip left them with stories to tell for years to come.
