Relaxation & Celebration: Rajesh’s Andaman Trip with Thrillophilia

My wife and I recently celebrated 28 wonderful years of marriage, and I wanted to mark the occasion with a truly special and unforgettable gift. After discussing with our children, they suggested a relaxing getaway to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands—a perfect choice for an ocean paradise.

When I shared this plan with my friend, he got excited and asked if he and his wife could join us. It turned out to be the cherry on top—what was already a romantic surprise for my wife became an even more memorable adventure with friends. My daughter helped plan our adventure through Thrillophilia, and when I revealed the surprise to my wife, she couldn’t contain her excitement. She exclaimed, “Thank you so much! I should start shopping!”

A Walk Through a History

We arrived in Port Blair and, after a restful break, visited the Cellular Jail, an important part of our history of independence. Our guide explained the history of the jail and shared stories about the hardships the freedom fighters faced there. We also enjoyed a spectacular light and sound show, which left a strong impact on me, filling me with pride and patriotism.

Afterwards, we went to a lovely rooftop restaurant for a delicious dinner, accompanied by live music. The city had a unique charm, and the people were warm and friendly. In Port Blair, we also had the chance to witness a blissful morning at Chidiya Tapu and my wife sighed breathing in the fresh beach breeze and said, “I want to live our retirement days like this, by the beach.”

Reliving Our Honeymoon Days

Our next adventure took us to the stunning Havelock Island. We boarded the ferry, and my wife, like an excited child, couldn’t contain her joy as the boat rocked with the waves. She laughed and said, “It feels like riding a roller coaster but without the fear!” I couldn’t help but laugh along, watching her so happy and carefree, fully embracing the moment.

The highlight of Havelock Island was hands-down Radhanagar Beach. I have never witnessed such a pristine beach with clear blue waters and soft sparkling white sand. We spent hours clicking pictures and walking along the shore, and it felt like we were again in the “honeymoon phase” of our marriage. It was truly surreal!

Next, we visited Elephant Beach, known for its crystal-clear water and incredible coral reefs. We took a boat ride to reach the beach, and I also tried my hand at snorkelling. While our wives opted to relax on the shore, my friend and I eagerly went into the water to explore the vibrant underwater world. The experience was unreal, as we swam, saw the colourful fish, and admired the incredible corals below. Meanwhile, our wives enjoyed lounging on the beach, soaking in the sun and the peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

After a day filled with breathtaking sights and unforgettable experiences, we ended our day with a delightful dinner at our hotel, specially set up for us on the hotel's private beach. Under the starry sky, we chatted for long hours and let the night drift with the soothing waves.

Most Beautiful Sunset

Our next ferry took us to the blissful Neil Island. The island is filled with lush greenery and stunning beaches. We explored some of its popular spots, but the highlight of the day was visiting the Natural Bridge. This incredible formation, made of coral stone, is a perfect example of how wonderful nature is. Walking through the area and seeing the coral up close beneath it was a breathtaking experience, making us feel truly connected with the island's untouched beauty.

Later, we headed to Lakshmanpur Beach to watch the sunset and it turned out to be the best sunset of my life. As the sun began to set, the sky turned into a canvas of warm oranges and pinks, casting a golden glow on the sea. We sat on a stall at the beach, sipping tea and eating Maggie along with a vintage music player playing amazing Bollywood songs. The atmosphere was nostalgic yet new, and I held my wife’s hand, telling her, “Life has been amazing with you, and I want to spend 28 more years enjoying it with you.”

Honestly, Neil Island, with its natural beauty and peaceful charm, is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to relax and connect with nature.

Adventure Through Mangroves

On the last day of our trip, we went on the Baratang excursion, which turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The highlight was passing through a tunnel of thick mangroves. We traveled by boat, slowly gliding through the narrow waterway, with dense green mangrove trees on either side. It all felt like we were in some otherworldly place away from the hustle and bustle of everything. The water was still, and the roots of the trees could be seen beneath the surface, making the scene feel magical.

The mangrove tunnel was a unique and tranquil experience, giving us a chance to connect with nature in a way we had not done before. After this peaceful adventure, we also got to explore the rest of the island and its fascinating limestone caves. The natural wonders of the island made everything seem unreal and mystical!

As we headed back to Port Blair, I felt grateful for the wonderful experiences and memories from the trip. Thrillophilia made our trip so easy and comfortable and above everything quite memorable!
