Nirmit’s Blissful Honeymoon Journey to Seychelles with Thrillophilia
Planning a honeymoon is no small feat, especially when you’re trying to keep it a surprise. My wife— well, my fiancée at the time— was determined to find out where I was taking her.
I’d just laugh and change the topic. Her curiosity peaked as the wedding day approached, but I stayed tight-lipped. Then, in the middle of greeting wedding guests, amidst hugs and gift exchanges, I told her, “Do you want to know my gift for you? We’re going to Seychelles!”
Her expression was a mix of disbelief and excitement. That moment alone was worth all the secrecy.
A Day of Leisure and Love in Praslin
Even our leisure days of this trip to Seychelles were so happening that they turned into unforgettable memories. The beaches here looked like they were straight out of a postcard. We spent hours at Anse Lazio, sunbathing on the powdery white sand, dipping our toes in the turquoise water, and occasionally challenging each other to silly beach games.
“Let’s see who can build the tallest sandcastle,” she grinned. Let’s just say my castle didn’t stand a chance in front of hers’.
For lunch, we indulged in Creole cuisine. I still remember the taste of grilled fish with mango salad and octopus curry paired with SeyBrew, a local beer. As the sun began its descent, turning the sky into beautiful ombre shades, we sat hand-in-hand on the beach, watching the waves kiss the shore.
The evening took us to a bustling local market, where we picked up vibrant pareos, handcrafted jewelry, and even a miniature model of a coco de mer. Her eyes sparkled as she tried on different trinkets, and I couldn’t help but feel lucky to have her by my side.
A Day of Adventure at La Digue
The next day, we hopped onto a ferry to La Digue Island. The short ride was breezy and refreshing, and once we arrived, we rented bicycles to explore the island.
This led to one of the funniest moments of the trip. My wife, who hadn’t ridden a bike in years, wobbled precariously before nearly crashing into a bush.
“Stop laughing and help me!” she yelled, and I couldn’t stop laughing even as I steadied her bike.
Our first stop was L'Union Estate, where we marveled at giant tortoises and old colonial houses. Then came the beaches- the breathtakingly beautiful beaches- Grand Anse and Petite Anse, each more gorgeous than the last. The water was so clear that we could see every pebble and spot fishes gliding effortlessly.
By afternoon, we stumbled upon a quaint beachside café. The ambiance was magical, with wooden tables under swaying palm trees and the sound of waves in the background. We feasted on freshly baked coconut bread, seafood platters, and tropical fruit smoothies.
“This might just be the best meal of my life,” she declared, and I wholeheartedly agreed.
A Day of Serenity in Mahe
Mahe welcomed us with its serene vibes. We woke up early to start our day with a refreshing swim at Anse Intendance Beach. The waves were gentle, the sand soft, and the entire experience felt like a scene from a romantic movie.
Post-swim, we grabbed breakfast at a café, enjoying fluffy pancakes and fresh fruit juices. The Seychelles National Botanical Garden was next on our list. Walking hand-in-hand through the lush gardens, we admired exotic flowers, towering palms, and even caught sight of some Aldabra giant tortoises. The tranquility of the place was unmatched, making it a perfect spot to pause and soak in the beauty of nature.
The Thrill of Copolia Trail
For our last adventure, we decided to hike the Copolia Trail. The trail was surrounded by dense greenery, and every turn brought a new surprise, from vibrant flowers to chirping birds. We laughed at our clumsy attempts to climb over rocks and joked about who would give up first. Spoiler alert: neither of us did!
When we finally reached the summit, the view took our breath away. The island stretched out before us, with the ocean shimmering like a sapphire. We stood there in silence, letting the beauty of the moment sink in.
“This,” she said, her voice filled with awe, “is what being on top of the world feels like.”
A Picture Frame of Memories
Almost a year later, I found myself staring at the picture frame hanging in our living room. It was filled with snapshots from our honeymoon— us laughing on the beach, posing with tortoises, and standing atop the Copolia Trail. Each picture held a story, a moment that made our trip unforgettable.
As I relived those memories, I felt a wave of gratitude to Thrillophilia. Seychelles wasn’t just a destination, it was an experience that brought us closer, filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures and Thrillophilia helped us create memories of a lifetime.
Writing this review felt like revisiting those magical days, and I hope it inspires others to create their own beautiful memories in this paradise.
