Reunited in Style: Harsh and Friends Trip to Macau with Thrillophilia

College friendships are some of the best times in life. But as work and life take over, we often lose touch, and they become distant memories. One day, a college friend visited my city for a meeting, and we started reminiscing about our college days. We realised we had never taken the trip we had planned after placements. After four years, reconnecting filled us with nostalgia and we decided to fulfil that pact of taking an all-boys trip. We reached out to our chat group, which had been quiet for months, hoping to reunite and revive our cherished memories and make that trip happen.

To our surprise, everyone was on board, and we were finally set to reunite. Weeks went by, filled with discussions about destinations and where to meet, but we couldn’t agree on anything. Then, one of my friends shared a link to Thrillophilia’s group tour packages. After considering our time and budget, we decided on Macau for a relaxing getaway to enjoy some quality time together.
The Meet Up…
I couldn’t contain the enthusiasm and as soon as I spotted my friends waiting for me at the airport, they all rushed to me screaming, “Bro, it is finally happening!” We departed from Delhi to the Hong Kong Airport and were super excited to chill and have a great time.

The Lit City of Hong Kong
The vibe of Hong Kong was as lit and vibrant as our excitement. Once we checked in, we decided to kick things off with a visit to the Sky 100 Observation Deck. The panoramic views of the city were breathtaking, and standing there, looking at the sprawling skyline, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of splendour. “Wow, this place looks straight out of a movie!” I exclaimed as we all took in the scene. We spent a while soaking in the view before heading to a lively party club. The music, the crowd, the lights—everything was buzzing, and it felt like we were living our college days back again!
After a fun party night, the next day we headed for our city tour. Our first stop was the historic School of Yaumatei, followed by the peaceful Tin Hau Temple. Walking through these places felt like stepping back in time and experiencing the cultural significance of the place. We then wandered through the West Kowloon Art Park, where the blend of modern art and nature really struck a chord with us. “This is so cool! I feel like we are in a piece of art,” said Ankush, as we admired the sculptures and greenery.
After that, we strolled through 1881 Heritage, a famous shopping street. We ended the day in the vibrant Tsim Sha Tsui district. We explored the lively streets and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. We grabbed some street food—and the dumplings were to die for! Later, we kicked off a pub crawl, hopping between lively bars and enjoying a few drinks while soaking in the energetic nightlife.

The Macau Adventure!
Our reunion adventure continued and Macau was super fun and exciting. After catching a ferry from Hong Kong, we were eager to explore this vibrant city. We started by visiting Senado Square, where the historic buildings and colourful streets left us in awe. Then, we visited Ma Temple and the impressive Kun Iam Statue, taking time to soak in the cultural richness of the area. The highlight of the day tour for us was definitely the Ruins of St. Paul. Standing there, surrounded by centuries of history, we couldn’t help but be amazed. As the evening fell upon us, we went for a relaxing walk at Hac Sa Beach and enjoyed the peaceful vibe of the place with a couple of beers.
The next day we explored the nearby Na Tcha Temple and Fortress, then strolled along the Old City Wall, imagining what life was like in ancient Macau. We then made our way to the Golden Lotus Statue and took a leisurely walk down Lover’s Lane. The evening was capped off with a visit to Fisherman’s Wharf, a lively entertainment place that had something for everyone. But the real jaw-dropper was the Macau Tower. The view from the top was absolutely stunning—skyline, sea, and everything in between. It was the perfect end to an unforgettable day. We were all tired, but the memories of Macau would stay with us forever. "Best trip ever," one of the guys said, and we all agreed.

Heading Back with Memories
As our trip came to an end, we couldn’t help but reflect on the unforgettable memories we’d made. "This trip was exactly what we needed," Harsh said, and we all nodded in agreement. It wasn’t just about the places we visited, but the laughter, the stories, and the time spent together. Heading back, we knew we’d carry these memories with us forever, and it wouldn’t be long before we’d plan our next reunion.
